About

I’m Lydia! I am a painter living and working in Asheville, North Carolina. I have a deep seeded passion for vintage paraphernalia from cookbooks and magazines to Pyrex dish ware and kitsch figurines all of which have been inspiration and source material for my artwork. While in school at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine I began my ongoing  series of Retro Food Paintings sourced from 1950’s and 60’s cookbooks. Though I know there will be some paintings of Jello molds in my future, I have been currently working on new a body of work entitled the Paint Chip Series. The series consists of miniature acrylic paintings, about 3 x 3 1/2 inches, of various subject matter inspired by the names on the commercial paint chips.
